Supports high-resolution, real-time monitor displays like head-mounted products
TOKYO – Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) today announced the launch of &ldquo"TC358870XBG", the industry's first[1]4K High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI®) to MIPI® dual-DSI converter chipset with video format conversion. Samples are available now, with mass production scheduled to start in September.
The new IC drives up to 4K Ultra HD (3840×2160 pixels) at a refresh rate of 30 frames per second (fps) with dual-DSI interface. It also supports WQXGA (2560×1600) at 60 frames per second and full HD resolutions at 120 fps. Its low latency enhances real-time gaming application and virtual reality products with high resolution LCD displays.
The new IC also supports conversion of HDMI® audio input stream to I2S, TDM, or SLIMbus® (Serial Low-power Inter-chip Media Bus), allowing use in a wide range of applications.
