DALLAS, Aug. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Studies from the U.S. Department of Labor show that careers in science, technology, engineering and math will be among the most lucrative for today's middle grades and high school students. Teacher recommended for middle grades and high school math and science
TI offers two handhelds, the TI-Nspire CX and the TI-Nspire CX CAS (Computer Algebra System) models. Both of these models come with TI-Nspire Student Software for MAC and PC. Available at major retail stores listed here, both are recommended by educators for math and science courses from middle grades through college, including math courses from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, and science courses such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Both handhelds are permitted on tests such as the SAT*, PSAT/NMSQT*, AP*, PraxisTM and many state exams. The TI-Nspire CX handheld is also allowed on the ACT* and IB® exams.
Software extends learning beyond the classroom
TI-Nspire Student Software gives students the freedom to learn anywhere, anytime, by seamlessly transferring schoolwork from their handheld in the classroom to their computer. In addition, all TI-Nspire products include free software and operating system (OS) updates over the product's lifetime, so students will always have the latest version of TI-Nspire technology.
Real-world applications
To further enrich the TI-Nspire CX experience, TI has teamed up with some of the nation's top STEM content providers to develop rich, colorful lessons that help students more easily visualize concepts and have fun learning math and science by using real-world scenarios – from skateboarding to space exploration to car racing.
Jeff Lukens, a high school science teacher in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, says the TI-Nspire CX handheld makes students more engaged in his class and helps them make stronger connections between math and science.
"Whether we're conducting a lab experiment to collect and analyze data, or a student is leading the discussion about how a concept applies to the real world, the TI-Nspire CX offers everything students need to better grasp these subjects," he says.
