The UPD1001 is a highly configurable and flexible USB Power Delivery (UPD) Controller delivering up to 100W of power from a single USB port.  The solution adheres to the USB Power Delivery Specification and enables an industry standard power sharing and battery charging protocol.  The standard specification outlines five different power profiles for system utilization.  The UPD1001 provides an additional 25 power profiles for further optimization.  Configuration is performed by strapping the configuration select pins on the product, and allows simple and quick design-in.  The UPD1001 is a single chip solution targeting power providing applications such as AC adapter and battery chargers, and is offered in two different package options—32 pin QFN and 28 pin TSSOP.
