ADI ADRF6573: 100 MHz to 4000 MHz, Digitally Controlled RF Dual VGA

2014/10/10Analog Devices  RF & Micro Wave

The ADRF6573 is a high performance, digitally controlled, dual variable gain amplifier (VGA) operating from 100 MHz to 4000 MHz. Each channel includes a 6-bit digital step attenuator (DSA) with a 31.5 dB gain control range, 0.5 dB steps, and ±0.25 dB gain accuracy. The attenuation of the DSA is controlled using a serial peripheral interface (SPI). The SPI is a serial in, parallel out shift register buffered by a transparent latch. It is controlled by three CMOS-compatible signals: data, clock, and latch enable. The amplifier in each channel is a broadband linear amplifier that operates up to 4000 MHz.

The device is internally matched to 50 Ω at the input and output. Only input/output ac coupling capacitors and power supply decoupling capacitors are required for operation.

The ADRF6573 consumes 85 mA per channel and operates from a single supply ranging from 4.75 V to 5.25 V. It is fully specified for operation from −40°C to +85°C.

The ADRF6573 is packaged in a 32-terminal, 7 mm × 7 mm ×1.0 mm, land grid array (LGA) package.
