Augmenting Alps Electric’s Global Production Infrastructure

Alps Electric Co., Ltd. (Ota-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Kuriyama) plans to construct a new plant building on the current site of Chinese affiliate Wuxi Alps Electronics Co., Ltd. (No.5, Xingchuang 4 Road, Singapore Industrial Park, Wuxi City, Jiangsu, China) in order to increase production targeting the growing markets of smartphones, other mobile devices and automotive equipment. The project is scheduled for completion in February 2018.
Established in China in 1995, Wuxi Alps Electronics has been manufacturing a wide range of electronic components including various switches, touch panels and camera actuators. In recent years, the company has focused on producing components for smartphones and automotive equipment and now looks to increase the volume of production for these businesses, especially within the Chinese market. Alps Electric has therefore made an additional investment in Wuxi Alps Electronics for the construction of a new plant building on the company’s existing premises.
Construction of the new plant building will be advanced in cooperation with Chinese government departments such as the administrative committee of the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District. The project will have minimal impact on consolidated financial performance for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017. Outline of the Additional Investment and the New Plant Building
