Sidac (SIDAC)®

Sidac (SIDAC)®, a two-terminal thyristor, is a semiconductor device that is energized by applying a specified voltage.
By using Sidac (SIDAC)® it is possible to easily create a pulse generation circuit.

1　2terminal thyristor

Thyristor has three terminals, whereas SIDAC has two terminals by incorporating a gate. Turns on (ignition) by adding the specified voltage (VBO).

2　An abundant lineup

K1V series with bidirectional characteristics. (No polarity). G1V series with unidirectional characteristics. VBO: 10V~380V (tvp) surface mount, selectable from axial package.

3　Operating principle

K1V series Turn on and energizes by applying the specified voltage (VBO). Turns off at or below holding current (IH). G1V series Turns on and energizes by applying specified viltage (VBO) between the anode and cathode. Turns off at or below holding current (IH).

If the load impedance RL is smaller than the switching resistance RS of the SICAC at the basic operating circuit, it turns on at the same time vin reaches K1V breakover voltage VBO.
The K1V series repeats the switching operation every cycle of AC. The G1V series operates only at + voltage.
